The FBI and NYPD are searching for clues, again, into the mysterious disappearance of Etan Patz, a boy who went missing in 1979.
Etan Patz disappeared without a trace in 1979 while he was waiting for the school bus. It was for the first time when his parents allowed him to go to school on his own. Etan was six years and seven months old.
The police is now searching a building located nearby Patz’s home, on the route Patz allegedly took towards the bus station.
The NYPD spokesman, Paul Browne, said that a team of forensic specialists are searching for blood traces, clothes and human remains in the basement of the building. They did not reveal however why they decided to search this building.
The authorities are going to take down a few walls and they are going investigate a weird looking concrete floor, which was installed around the time Etan Patz disappeared.
Etan Patz’s disappearance caused a frenzy in New York City. The case also changed the way missing children cases were handled in the United. It was for the first time when the photo of a missing child appeared on milk cartons.
Patz’s parents suspect that Jose Ramos killed Etan, a man who had an affair with Etan’s nanny at that time. Ramos will be released from prison this year after serving a 20 years sentence for abusing an 8 years old child.
