My review unit of the Motorola DEFY MINI arrived with a microUSB cable, a 2GB microSD card and a wall charger.  Design-wise, the phone really doesn’t look that great. There is a lot of plastic present on the phone, but then again, being a rugged phone has its disadvantages after all. For all the punishment it can take, we would gladly accept the design.

Thanks to the build quality of the phone, it does feel solid in the hand, except for the plasticity feel. Even taking off the back cover requires a lot of effort. It is tightly placed together protecting the phone from harm. There are some things about the Motorola DEFY MINI that really annoyed me. Take for example the cover sitting on top of the microSD slot. This slot cover is a huge problem if you want to quickly switch cards.

The 3.2 inches display of the Motorola DEFY MINI is made out of pure Gorilla glass. This means your screen is well protected against typical scratches. Apart from that, it offers a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, which is not quite bad at all. During the tests, the ratio of resolution with screen size presented decent image results. The colors are warm and the brightness contrast ratios high. However, due to Gorilla glass screen, operating the phone outside is quite tough.

The Motorola DEFY MINI is essentially designed for people who are less likely to care about their smartphones. I am one of these people; I do not really cover my phone with a case or anything, so this appeals me a lot. On top of its rough profile, the phone offers decent performance and a good price.
