North Korea raised the alert level of it’s armed forces, Kim Kwan-Jin announced on Friday, the North Korea defense secretary. This decision was made after the failed launch of a ballistic rocket, a test that was sanctioned by the international community.

“North Korea’s armed forces were placed on high alert” Kwan-Jin said today.

The North Korea Army includes approximately 1.2 soldiers, considering that the total population of the country is 24,5 million people.

South Korea adopted a resolution that that recommends a “firm” response to any new “challenge” from  North Korea.

North Korea and South Korea signed a ceasefire agreement after that ended the war ( 1950 – 1953 ) however the countries did not sign a peace treaty.
