In order to run video games on your laptop, you need something that can give you at least 30 frames per second on a given video game. The Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7170 passes that test and gave us a score of 30 fps on nearly every modern game we tried playing on it. The games we tested ranged from first person shooters to role playing games. Every game was easily run able on the system but mostly on medium high graphics.
Design wise the Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7170 is not quite impressive. When you look at a gaming laptop, you see a perfectly designed laptop that compliments the nature of video games. This one has red stripes all over and a keyboard with backlit support. There is nothing fancy like the Alienware here. So for anyone who is looking for a laptop with looks, you might not be impressed.
The Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7170 is heavy, this is because it comes with a lot of fire power that requires a huge battery pack to keep it running for a few hours. The laptop carries within itself a Core i5 processor from Intel which is a little surprise for us because many gaming laptops usually have Core i7 processors installed on them. Apart from a mid ranged processor, the laptop has an nVidia based GeForce GTX 560M. No wonder the graphics capability of the laptop is good. The GTX 560M is a fast card with a video memory of 1.5GB.
In addition to a great graphics processor, the Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7170 also comes with 6GB of RAM and 640GB hard disk drive. Most applications will run quite smooth on the system. It also comes with USB 3.0 ports that you can use to transfer data faster on pen drives that support the technology. The native resolution of the laptop is 1600 x 900 pixels which might be a disappointment for some people.
The Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7170 is a great gaming laptop; however, we were expecting a better screen and a better processor. But nonetheless, if you need to do some gaming on the go, this is your thing.
