The Dell Latitude XT3 is a rugged laptop; hence it’s heavy, bad to look at and not so portable friendly. However, looking it from the eyes of a professional who works in rough environments, this is definitely a good choice. I will try to outline the benefits of the laptop in this review.

The Dell Latitude XT3 is a laptop designed for enterprises. This one comes with an interesting twist. By folding its keyboard and lid, you can turn this laptop into a tablet. The screen is rotatable too, so there is a lot of things a professional can get out of it. These kinds of laptops usually end up in the hands of professionals who are not always necessarily on their desks, for example, a doctor, a teacher or an engineer might find this an excellent device.

The Dell Latitude XT3 comes in different flavors with different prices. The one I got for the review is a mid level laptop costing around$1000 in retail. As soon as I held the laptop in my hand I already knew that it is designed to take some punishment. The entire case of the laptop is made with powerful plastic with corners infused with magnesium allow. Dell also claims the laptop is spill resistant, and by looking at its keyboard and the rubber gaskets around it, I am sure it is.

The only notable problem with the Dell Latitude XT3 is its weight. It can be used as a tablet but with so much weight on it, I hard to find that it would be comfortable. The total weight on the scale is 2.35KG, which is insane if you try to hold it for too long with a single hand. The weight is due to the excellent nine cell battery. This makes the laptop heavy but also gives you around 8 hours of battery life.

The Dell Latitude XT3 is a good enterprise level laptop with lots of security features and specifications tailored for the laptop. However, its convertible profile is a gimmick to me. With its heavy weight, I wasn’t satisfied using it as a tablet. But when it comes to using it as a laptop, this is a decent performer with Core i5, 2GB of RAM and 128GB solid state drive.
