May of this year will be very exiting for gamers who like to play arcade games: Codemasters Racing announced that DiRT: Showdown will be released on May 24, 2012, in Europe ( May 25 in the UK and on May 29 in the USA ).

Also, Codemasters confirmed that a demo version of DiRT: Showdown can be downloaded through Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Steam starting with May 1, 2012.

It seems that the publisher decided to stop using Games for Windows – LIVE.

DiRT: Showdown will focus on the arcade side of motorsports and will benefit from three gaming modes: executing maneuvers for points Gykkhainei style, destruction derbies, where the objective is to hit as destroy other cars; classic races in closed circuits.

The publisher also released a new trailer for DiRT: Showdown, a trailer which you can view below.

DiRT: Showdown will also include the new RaceNet service ( similar to NFS’ Autolog ).
