After the release of the New iPad Tablet, presented in live text by HotOnline.net last night, most iPad users have started to deal with the old dilemma: is the new iPad tablet worth buying ?
In this article we are going to compare the New iPad with the iPad 2 tablet so you can make an easier decision.
The New iPad tablet can be pre-ordered in the United States but is it worth buying ? Read on.
1) The New iPad 3 vs. iPad 2: Display
The dream of many Apple fans became a reality: The new iPad ships with Retina Display! At the same 9,7 inch size, the old iPad display offered a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and a pixel density if 132 for every inch. On the New iPad, Retina Display offers a 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution at a pixel density of 264. The result includes more vibrant colors, clearer text and the possibility of watching 1080p Full HD movies.
2) iPad 3 Versus iPad 2: Hardware
The biggest improvement of the new iPad tablet is the Apple A5X processor. Even if it’s still a dual core, it offers a speed of up to 1.5 GHZ compared to the iPad 2 processor at 1 GHZ. The new Apple chipset also includes a quad core graphics solution that offers a video processing power just as high as the Nvidia video card of the new Playstation Vita.
The photo camera was also improved. While the iPad 2 came with a 0,7 MB camera that was able to take photos at a resolution of 960 x 720 and was able to record 720p videos, the new 5 MP photo camera with auto focus and facial recognition can take photos at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 and can record Full HD 1080p videos.
3. The new iPad Versus iPad 2: Design
The new iPad tablet looks almost like the iPad 2 tablet which seems to prove that Apple’s priority was to improve the processing power of the tablet and not it’s design.
Thanks to the Retina Display, the new iPad has a thickness of 9,4 mm, 0,6 mm bigger than the iPad 2, and weights a bit more: 662 grams compared to 607 grams.
4) New iPad 3 Versus iPad 2: Software
Some Apple fans were disappointed because the new iOS 6 OS was not released with the new iPad tablet. Apple released a new and improved iOS 5.01 version.
The new iPad also benefited from iMovie and iWork apps upgrades, apps that are using the improved resolution of the screen.
The most important software difference between the new iPad and iPad 2 is the new iPhoto application that allows you to edit the photos you create with the camera of the new iPad tablet.
5) iPad 3 vs. iPad 2: Connectivity
The new iPad tablet improves the Bluetooth system: V4.0 for the new iPad compared to the v2.1 for iPad 2 however the biggest news is the 4G connectivity.
6) The New iPad 3: Speculation Versus Reality
The huge number of speculations about the new iPad tablet generated some disappointment. Siri for the iPad, 128 GB memory and A6 quad core processors are just a few of the rumors about the new iPad tablet that did not come true.
The new iPad tablet will be released, at first, in the U.S., Japan, Canada and a few European countries but the tablet will be available world wide on March 23, 2012.
