A jewelry company from Switzerland designed an engagement ring created from a single piece of diamond, being the first ring of it’s kind.

According to recent reports, the 150 carat jewelry is worth 70 million dollars and it was cut from a raw diamond, and the company spend about 1 year manufacturing it.

Shawish Jewellry announced ever since 2011 the release of this engagement ring, as they wanted to bring something new on the market and to prove that the dreams of their clients can become a reality.

A company representative said that technically, the manufacturing process of this engagement ring was a real challenge.

They used a state of the art equipment to cut the diamond because the quality of the diamond could have been affected during the  production process. Initially, they made a round whole in the raw diamond, after which they worked on designing the shape of a ring, an operation that could have altered the molecular structure of the diamond.

The 70 million dollars engagement ring was put on display last week in Baselworld, the most important expo of watches and jewelry in the world.
