For a budget friendly machine, the CCL Elite Hawk offers a lot. This machine is designed to run video games at medium graphics. It is being powered by the new AMD Bulldozer FX – 4100 processor, clocked at 3.6 GHZ and running on the exclusive AM3+ socket. To boost performance CCL Computers paired this new processor with 8GB of DDR3 RAM. The specifications are pretty decent for a machine that is on budget, but upon putting it through the benchmarking tests, the performance was mediocre. To find out how the PC performed during the tests, read out the review.
Being marketed for a gaming audience, the CCL Elite Hawk adds in a discrete graphics card to the specifications. Any enthusiast gamer might not be impressed with the gaming power of this system, but those who are on a tight budget will certainly appreciate the Radeon HD 6770 graphics card with 1GB DDR5 RAM. During the performance tests of graphics power, the system managed to give out fairly decent frames. These frames were obtained by running graphics extensive games on medium settings. We were able to get playable frames on FEAR, Stalker and Crysis.
For those looking for a system that offers good looks, the CCL Elite Hawk will mostly disappoint. It is encased in a very simple black casing finished with matte. The build quality of the case is however pretty decent and sturdy. The case offers all the basic ports on the front side, these include USB ports and headphones jack. The case is also pretty okay from the inside as it offers good cable management tools. CCL has also put in a decent heatsink on the processor to cool things off during high temperatures. We would have loved an extra fan on the sides of the case, but it seems that the company did not include any.
The CCL Elite Hawk comes with a DVD+RW drive and a normal 500GB SATA 6GBps 7200 RPM hard drive. You should easily be able to play HD videos through the system and it will run most games on medium settings. This is a good system for anyone who is low on cash.
