The newest issue of The Official Xbox Magazine confirmed the existence of a new Medal of Honor game, entitled Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
The game is expected to arrive in October of this year and it is fully developed by EA Danger Close studio, the same studio that worked on the single player campaign of the previous game of the Medal of Honor franchise.
This time however, EA Danger Close will also create the multiplayer module of the new Medal Of Honor: Warfighter game, DICE not being involved in the development of the new project.
Still, a connection with the Swedish studio is being kept, as the new Medal of Honor game will use the Frostbite 2 graphic engine, the same technology behind games like Battlefield 3 or Command & Conquer: Generals 2.
In Medal of Honor: Warfighter we are going to deal again with the operations of the Tier 1 special forces unit, however it is unknown if the storyline will take place in Afghanistan or not.
The Medal of Honor: Warfighter game will be officially unveiled during a press conference during GDC 2012, on March 6, 2012. The previous game of the franchise was released in 2010 for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and it was sold in more than 5 million copies.
