The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e is a different kind of netbook especially because it falls under the lines of rugged netbooks. The netbook should easily be able to take damage to its exterior should you travel a lot. The only thing I believe will disappoint a lot of people is its processor choice, which isn’t Intel based. The netbook uses an AMD based processor which is a bit on the slower side. But fortunately, the laptop offers decent performance for day to day tasks and you should not have any issues operating it. This review will discuss the design, specifications and performance of the laptop.
Nowadays, a lot of tablets have brought customers away from netbooks, which were once considered the best portable option available. But that doesn’t mean that the netbooks have completely lost hope as many manufacturers are still producing these machines and there is still a lot of market available. The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e is designed to be used by students. It offers a perfect QWERTY keyboard solution that most tablets cannot offer with their soft touch keyboards.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e is an excellent netbook for anyone who needs to take notes on the go, take for example anyone in the journalism field. It gets most software running on optimal performance and even boots really fast for a netbook. Design wise, the laptop won’t win any awards because of its overall plastic exterior. The only reason why Lenovo has made this a plastic laptop is because that makes it a very affordable choice.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X130e uses 1366 x 768 pixels resolution on an 11.6 inches screen. This is a very good resolution for a netbook, since the screen size ratio is quite small. You cannot however expect any HD output from this netbook. However, if you have an HD cable, you can easily attach the laptop to your TV via the HDMI port. Performance wise, the laptop offers an AMD e-300 1.3GHZ with 2GB of RAM. This configuration should offer you the basic performance needed to power most software for office work, however, if you plan on playing a little bit of games on it, you may be disappointed with the results.
