StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
This year, Blizzard Entertainment will release a new StarCraft game. The three powers, Protoss, Terran and Zerg will fight each other again, in the newest version of the game, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. The game brings some changes that will improve the experience and will allow single player and multi player gaming modes.
Regarding the system requirements, to play this game you will need at least 1 GB of RAm memory, GeForce 6600 128 MB video card, 4 Gb of HDD space, Pentium 4, 2.2 GHZ processor and Windows XP / Vista / 7 operating system.
Jagged Alliance: Back in Action
Another sequel to be released in 2012 is Jagged Alliance Back in Action. The first game of the franchise was released in 1994. The action takes place in the context in which a dictator rose to power in Arulco and a former exiled president tries to gather some mercenaries to remove him from power. The release of the game will take place on February 2012.
Total War: Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai
Less than one year after the release of Total War: Shogun 2, the release of a sequel was announced. Total War Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai. This version follows the conflict between the imperial crown and Shogunate in Japan during the 19th century. To be able to play this game you do not also have to own the Total War Shogun 2 game. The game will be released in March of this year.
Crusader Kings II
As the name suggests, the game is another sequel. The game presents a fragmented Europe in a fight between the Pope and the Emperor. Also, this is the period of the crusades. The purpose of the player is to create the most powerful dynasty in Europe to help free the Holy Country and to fight against traitors.
Wargame: European Escalation
Another awaited strategy game in 2012 is Wargame: European Escalation. The game takes place during the Cold War. The game presents a few theories about things might have unfolded if the tensions during the Cold War would have escalated into a conflict. The game will be released at the beginning of 2012.
