Helicopter Crash in Afghanistan; Six U.S. Soldiers Dead

Six U.S. soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan after a helicopter crashed in the Helmand province.

The victims are all members of the U.S. Army.

The helicopter they were in, a Ch-53 Sea Stallion, crashed but evidence show that the helicopter was not taken down by a missile.

“The cause of the incident is currently under investigation” authorities said.

Sea Stallion is helicopter capable of transporting 40 people. Authorities failed to mention if other people were on board the time the helicopter crashed.

On August 5, 2012, a Chinook U.S. helicopter was taken down by the Taliban for the first time since the conflict started in 2001. 8 Afghanistan citizens and 30 Americans, out of which 22 Navy Seals members from the same unit that took down Osama Bin Laden were killed.
