Google Nexus Tablet: The First Google Tablet

  • Sharebar

Google collaborated with HTC and Samsung to promote the mobile operating system ( Android ) on smartphones, and now it seems that Google wants to tackle the tablets segment of the market too. According to some statements from Eric Schmidt, Google is preparing a tablet to compete with Amazon Kindle Fire.

So, the Google tablet is going to offer remarkable performances in a compact body with a 7 inch touchscreen, all for a price under $200.

It is rumored that the tablet will be named Nexus tablet, which makes us think that the manufacturer of the tablet will be Samsung, the same company who manufactured the Google Nexus One, Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus smartphones.

The operating system the Google tablet will run on will most likely be the latest Android version.

Although the step seems to be a logical one, Google prefers to keep us in suspense and they haven’t confirmed anything. All we have are the statements made by Eric Schmidt.

If the rumor turns out to be true, the Google tablet might appear on the market sometime in the next six months.
