Firefox 10 is now official. The new version brings few new features but enjoys extended support from Mozilla, being part of the “Extended Support Release” category.
The Firefox web browser versions included in the ESR category come with a finalized set of features and they do not receive other changes except the usual security updates. In the six weeks calendar respected by Mozilla to renew regular versions, Firefox 10 will receive the next major revamp in November. The measure comes to support companies who prefer Mozilla, but do not like the way Mozilla releases new versions.
Along with many security fixes and stability optimizations, Firefox 10 also brings the following:
- antialiasing support in applications that use 3D acceleration features from WebGL technologies
- a new API for apps created to run in maximize mode
- CSS3 3D – Transforms support
- Forward button is visible only when we have a page we can forward to
