Although many say that Consumer Electronics Show Las Vegas has failed to bring a notable news in what products and services releases are concerned, you might get some surprises at this year’s edition.
1. More than 50 new ultrabooks awaited at CES
It seems that the releases of PC tablets and ultrabooks will dominate CES 2012 this year. Actually, analysts estimated that 2012 will be the year of ultrabooks and the increase of portability at every level.
In other words, it’s possible for 2012 to also be the year in which Apple loses the supremacy on the market where the MacBook Air is King right now.
Specialists estimated that more than 50 ultrabooks will be released at CES 2012.
2. Tegra 2 and Android Ice Cream Sandwich Take Over Tablets
Tablets will consolidate their market position this year with the appearance of the Android 4 ice Cream Sandwich OS and with the release of some thinner and lighter tablets.
A increase of performance will be spotted in the tablets category, but this information is not a sure thing.
The most recent Nvidia chipset – Tegra 3 – was also adopted by many tablets manufacturers, so the processing power will increase on these devices which will be animated by processors with four cores.
3. 40 MM TV from LG
LG is the manufacturer which will bring new things on the TV market at CES 2012, one of the areas of the market tackled by giants like Google and Apple.
LG is going to bring at least two TVs at CES you probably might want in your living room: a OLED TV with a 1,39 meters screen size and a thickness of only 40 mm; a TV with a resolution four times bigger than what current HD TVs provide. The TV with a 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution and a 85 inch screen size.
4. Microsoft
Microsoft decided to stop attending the CES 2012 show after this year’s edition. And, being the last time when Microsoft attends, this year’s edition might be memorable for Microsoft fans.
According to TechRadar, Microsoft might present the next Xbox generation: Xbox 720. For the moment these are only rumors and most analysts say that Microsoft will present the second Xbox generation only in the third trimester of this year.
But, we are sure that Microsoft is going to present new details about the Windows 8 operating system.
5. Nokia Might Release a New Windows Phone
We are talking about Nokia Lumia 900, a 4,3 inch screen smartphone with 4G LTE features for the United States mobile networks.
