Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent who went missing in Iran five years ago, showed up in a video posted on Friday by his family on the Internet.
Levinson says the fact that he is not doing so well and he doesn’t have diabetes medication.
“I was treated well, but i need the United States Government to meet the demands of the group that keeps me captive for more than there years” Levinson says in front of the camera.
This is the first appearance of the former FBI agent who, after retirement, worked as a private investigator. In 2007, he was on the Kish island in Iran, a place where Americans can go without a visa.
He disappeared a that time and for more than there years U.S. authorities talked to Iran officials asking for his release. Iran authorities denied that they are involved in the kidnapping.
After the video was published, it became clear that this is not a solution that can be solved diplomatically between the United States and Iran. This is a negotiation between the U.S. authorities and the kidnappers of the former FBI agent who are still unidentified.
