Juniper Networks reported a very high increase, of almost 500%, of applications that contain viruses and malware and which target the Android operating system from Google.
Analysts from Juniper Networks warned a while back that from the summer of last year until May of 2011, the number of malware applications that target the Android OS recorded a growth of almost 400%.
Now, the company issues new warnings. So, from May until now the number of Android malware grew by 500%! The biggest growth started with October of this year.
The Malware “pandemic” that targets Android phones is possible because Google has not established a more secure environment for apps in the Android Market.
The dangerous increase of spyware and malware applications should put more pressure on Google to finally modify the security protocols used on the Android Market.
