If plagiarism would have been a flattery method, then Microsoft would have paid Apple a lot of compliments. It seems that Microsoft copied the Apple Store concept quite a lot.
According to some sources, Microsoft’s retail store recently opened in Westfield Valley Fair is too similar to the Apple Store located nearby.
David Porter is the man in charge with Microsoft’s retail strategy. Porter used to work at Wal-Mart so we might say that he’s a specialist in his field. The Microsoft Store seems to be a bit more colorful than the Apple Store, but with the same offer regarding services, including a Answer Desk similar to the Genius Bar from Apple where users come to ask advise on how to solve software problems.
The question is why does Microsoft need a store for it’s products. Is Microsoft trying to attract some of the Apple clients?
