British singer George Michael was admitted to the AKH hospital in Vienna with pneumonia symptoms, ORF tv network announced.
George Michael canceled his Vienna concert two hours before starting time. The organizers of the event said that George Michael is suffering from a inflammation of the respiratory system and that the decision was made at the doctors request.
An announcement was posted on George Michael’s website on Wednesday and three more concerts were also canceled.
George Michael is 48 years old. He returned on stage in August after a three years long break, with a series of 63 concerts he was supposed to hold in many European cities.
In the last few years George Michael was front page news many times because of the scandals he was involved in and less because of his music career.
Last year George Michael spent four weeks in jail for driving under the influence. He also had problems with the law in 2007 when he was sentenced to 100 hours of community service after he used drugs. One year later, George Michel was seen doing drugs in a public toilet.
George Michael became famous in the 80′s in the successful Wham! duet. His popularity continued to grow once he released the Faith album in 1987, a album that is considered representative for the pop music.
