The first quad-core tablet, Asus Transformer Prime, was seen in a short presentation video, having a good time running a 1080p resolution and the Riptide GP game, installed in a version with improved graphics.

The video, created on November 16, two days after Google announced the open Source availability of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich ( Android 4.0 ) source code, captures the new operating system running on a Tegra 3 tablet in optimum conditions.

The passing to Open Source allows companies and hardware developers to offer to adapt to the new Android OS based on their needs. So, we are going to see more Android 4.0 products than Android Honeycomb and the compatibility problems should become a thing of the past.

About the potential of the Nvidia Tegra 3 platform to playing 3D games, the modified version of the Riptide GP game offers a few extra special effects, like motion blur, detailed waves and other effects which were rendered without problems and at a high frames per second number.
