Ambitious Project In London: Thames Hub, the Biggest Airport In The World

  • Sharebar

The biggest airport in the world will be built on the river Thames and it will cost 50 billion UK pounds. It is a ambitious and unique project, and it is designed by  British architect as a solution to make all traffic lighter in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the Thames terminal will be a starting point for routes connecting countries in North eastern Europe.

Thames Hub is a real recipe meant to revolutionize transport in the United Kingdom. Four runways will be built on the Grain island and would serve 150 million passengers each year. This is twice as many passengers than the Heathrow airport. The airport will also include the biggest train station in the United Kingdom.

The British Government admitted that the main airports in London will reach full capacity in 2030. So the Thames Hub project might be the solution.

However, not everybody thinks that this is the best course of action. The Grain Island, where the airport will be built, houses one of the biggest natural gas reserves in the world. And skeptics think that a airport accident might result in a catastrophe.
