The first trimester of 2012 will bring consumers a new generation of PC tablets, pc tablets with quad core processors and Android 4.0 OS. Acer and Lenovo are two of the manufacturers who promise to release quad core tablets in the first half of year 2012.
Acer and Lenovo seem determined to directly compete with rival Asus, which will soon release the Eee Pad Transformer Priem tablet, a tablet that will run on Android 3.2 and will come with a quad core Tegra 3 processor.
The media reports that the Lenovo tablet will also come with a Tegra 3 processor. It will have a 10,1 inch screen, 2 Gb of RAM memory and standard USB ports. On the other hand, the Acer tablet will come with ARM Cortex A9 Tegra 3 chispset.
Both tablets will have a price tag between 459 and 599 dollars, and analysts wonder if the release of devices such as Amazon Kindle Fire and Nook Color, with prices of up to 250 dollars, will faint consumers interest in more expensive tablets.
In other words, it’s likely that the success of the Kindle Fire to dictate a new price policy on the tablets market.
