Year 2011 has taken it’s toll. Politicians, athletes, artists, business men, but also terrorists are some of the most famous people that lost their lives this year.
Steve Jobs, Amy Winehouse, but also Osama Bin Laden or Muammar Gaddafi are some of the most famous people who died this year. Some of them died because of natural causes, and but some of them were killed.

Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was killed on May 2. He was killed by a team of United States special forces.
Mohamed Bouazizi, a salesman from Tunisia, set himself on fire on January 4 protesting against the Tunisia regime. It was the spark that started the Arabic Spring.
Muammar Gaddafi was killed on October 20. He was shot to death by the rebels.
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, died of cancer on October 5, 2011. He was 56 years old.
Two times Oscar winner Elizabeth Taylor died on March 23 because of heart problems. She was 79 years old.
Singer Amy Winehouse died on July 23 because of alcohol abuse.
Actor Peter Falk, the man who played famous detective Colombo, died on June 23 because of cardiac arrest.
Famous director Sidney Lumet died on April 9. He was 86 years old.
Italian motorcycle pilot Marco Simoncelli, 24 years old, died on October 23 in a accident in Malaysia.
Wales manager Gary Speed was found dead on November 27.
