Windows 7 occupies 40,17% of the market, followed by Windows Xp with 38,72% and it is estimated that nearly 635 million computers will run on Windows 7 OS by the end of year 2011.

Microsoft’s objective was fulfilled, Windows 7 becoming a huge hit for Microsoft and right now more than 450 million licenses were sold.
Even if Windows 8 will be launched soon, Microsoft does not want to pay a lot of attention promoting Windows 8, instead they are focusing their efforts to get users to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7.
