Each week many movies from all over the world are transformed into worthless Hollywood projects.

Hollywood also has the had habit of remaking movies that were successful in the past.

Sometimes, these initiatives make sense, but most often they are nothing but a warning. A warning that tells us that writers are no longer inspired. Let’s take a look at some of the worst movie remakes in the history of movies.

Swept Away (2002)

Guy Ritchie and Madonna decided to put on a remake of the movie directed by Lina Wertmuller and they are using the same context: a rich American woman ends up on a island with a poor Greek. The evolution of the relationship is predictable: if at first she despised him, our hero ends up appreciating him.But the movie has not convinced anyone.

Get Carter (2000)

The original movie with Michael Caine in the leading role is one of the most appreciated movies in the United Kingdom and the remake with Sylvester Stallone received A LOT of negative reviews. The remake failed miserably compared to the original and it is just another failed Hollywood project.

Planet of The Apes (2001)

I have seen this movie when it first came out but i don’t remember much. But with the original movie things are different. The remake was accused of trying to make the monkeys look better, ignoring the social-political context. This was probably Tim Burton’s worst movie.

Psycho (1998)

One of the worst movies in 1998, the remake shocked because comedian Vince Vaughn was cast in this movie. And also Gus Van Sant’s decision of recreating Hitchcock’s masterpiece frame by frame was very much discussed and criticized.

The Women (2008)

George Cukor created the original in 1939, and it was considered representative for the chick flick genre with Norma Shearer and Joan Crawford as the leaders of some known MGM actresses. The remake failed to impress, and it also pissed off a lot of viewers because it was loud, not funny and utterly useless.
