Two important games which will be released this year by Electronic Arts are not going to be compatible with Windows XP operating system. NFS The Run and Battlefield 3 are using the Frostbite 2 graphics engine which will only have support for DirectX 10 and DirectX 11. In conclusion, the games can only be played on the Windows 7 and Windows Vista operating systems.
The logical question is if the NFS The Run or Battlefield 3 will be successful on the PC or if they will influence users to migrate to the new Windows 7.
Even if, graphical wise, the games are different than the previous versions, chances to cause a possible change inclines to NFS The Run, and we are saying this because Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 rules the shooter games market, with Battlefield 3 on the second position.
