The number of poor in the United States grow to a record number of 46,2 million last year, in the context in which the US economy is making efforts to comeback after the recession, the Federal Government announced this week.
In a report that underlines the economical problems, the US president Barack Obama and the United States congress state that the number of poor in the country increased for a third consecutive year and it now counts 15,1% of the entire US population, 8% more than in 2009 when 43,6 million Americans were poor according to official information.
The number of Americans listed as poor in 2010 is the biggest number in the last 52 years and the poverty rate also hit a record number.
Currently, the number of Americans without medical insurance got close to 50 million.
