A 7,1 magnitude earthquake took place in Alaska, in the South East region. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Aleutine islands.

A 7,1 magnitude earthquake hit Alaska on Friday, the USGS announced.

The epicenter was located 200 km from Atka, at a depth of 35,5 km. Atka has a population of almost 1,000 people.

The Pacific Tsunami warning center indicated that there is no tsunami danger after this earthquake.
