Tornado Warning In New York

The City of New York issued a tornado warning, a phenomenon that often accompanies hurricanes formed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Weather services previously announced that they are monitoring the situation, as there are favorable tornado conditions in New York, Long Island and South of Connecticut.As a Tornado warning has been issues, it means that specialists detected the formation of this phenomenons that often accompanies hurricanes.

Hurricane Irene caused damages at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant in Maryland, where, because of a damaged transformer, a reactor automatically shutdown, but authorities ensures people that this is not a nuclear safety risk.

Hurricane Irene, accompanied by a 128 km/h sped wind caused the death of at least 10 people and continues to move north, on the East coast of the United States, already making it’s presence felt in New York.

The hurricane warning was extended until Cape Code on Massachusetts and parts of the Canadian coast received tropical storm warnings.
